Ministry Staff Team
Steve was inducted at HBC as Senior Pastor on February 15 2009. His previous ministries include: Director Church Development at Churches of Christ Vic,Tas; Senior Pastor of Community Life Church Cherrybrook (North-West Sydney); and Pastor for Youth & Young Adults at Crossway/Blackburn Baptist (Melbourne).
Steve has been involved in Preaching, Teaching and Training both nationally and internationally as well has having established mission partnerships in various countries.
Steve loves sport, is particularly passionate about Carlton Blues in AFL, as well as being keen on the other football (soccer) and other sports. He is interested in theatre and film, and enjoys good food and real coffee!
Steve is married to Sue and they have a son, Ricky who is 10 years old and the life of the party at home.
Noddy commenced at HBC in July 2009 as our Pastor for Youth and Young Adults. Prior to this he was an Associate Pastor at Newhope Baptist Church.
Darren works two days per week at Heathmont and combines this with his role as Chaplain at Templeton Primary School.
He loves connecting with kids and listening to where they are at. He also loves sport and engaging with kids through sport and physical activities.
He is married to Lisa and has two beautiful girls, Jessica (11) and Keely (9). Lisa works for Kids Hope at World Vision.
Darren was previously the Director : Children & Families Ministry for Churches of Christ in Vic/Tas.
Yvonne has been at Heathmont since Jan 2011 and is the Children and Young Families Pastor. She is married to Dave and has three boys, Jack (5) Oliver (2) and Charlie (6mths). Yvonne has worked in a variety of pastoral positions in churches and worked as the Baptist Union Youth Coordinator. Yvonne is passionate about seeing lives transformed by the Gospel.
Our Worship and Creative Arts Pastor, Kerri, is passionate about seeing lives transformed through God –honouring worship through music and the arts. After establishing a career in the corporate world, Kerri felt called to the ministry and has served as the Creative Ministries Director at CrossCulture Church of Christ prior to joining Heathmont Baptist.
Kerri is also a musical theatre junkie, a bookworm and is inspired by funky art galleries and cafes.
She is married to Kan, an architect who likes to draw cartoons in his spare time.
Debbie works one day per week at HBC as the Finance Officer. She is a librarian by profession, having worked at the Dept. of Defence for the past ten years.
Debbie is married to Steve and has a beautiful daughter named Marisa, who is the apple of her eye.
Apart from being well organised, there’s nothing she enjoys more than meeting and helping people… except perhaps for a nice piece of cake at morning tea time!
Sonja is the full time Administrator here at Heathmont Baptist. She’s originally from the States, but has lived and worked in Norway and in Russia. In Russia she worked as the Personnel/HR
Co-ordinator for Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Sonja is married to Cameron, and both have a passion for local and global Missions.
After 16 years working for the same financial institution, Melanie felt the call to change career and direction, and has taken up the role of Personal Assistant to the Senior Pastor. Part time PA and part time law student, she has been married to Paul for 10 years and has two beautiful sons, Noah (6) and Elijah (3).
She has a love of reading, movies, music theatre and jazz, but will mostly be found in her kitchen indulging in her passion for cooking, baking and entertaining.
