Ministry Internships

Ministry Internships

After a fruitful year of our 2018 interns intake, Heathmont Baptist Church is excited to provide Ministry Internships for 2019!
The following streams are available:
  • Youth
  • Young Adults
  • Children’s Ministry
  • Community Mission
Our program runs over a 12-month period, 2 days per week. If you feel God’s calling to be involved in ministry and mission, then this could be for you.
Our goal in providing these internships is to contribute to the work of God’s Kingdom by giving the opportunity for emerging leaders to gain experience, training and personal and skills development – equipping them to be commissioned out into a ministry assignment in local church or ministry/mission organisations.
If you would like ‘on the job’ training to develop a vocation in Ministry, and/or for personal spiritual growth and formation, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. We have had very encouraging results with our intake of interns for 2018
What our 2018 Interns say about the HBC Internship experience:
Jared: Through the internship this year, God has been developing me and challenging me to think, act and live both missionally and relationally. He has shown me over and over again this year that although I’m young, He still desires to use me to for His Kingdom. The internship has given me freedom and empowerment to be involved in (and lead) various ministries, as well as giving me intentional mentoring, training and guidance so I can learn along the way. I would recommend this internship to anyone who is looking to learn, engage in and get experience in church or mission leadership, anchored in Jesus’ principles, methods and model. If you would like to be trained and equipped for this purpose, please consider this internship prayerfully :)

Gabi: The internship has helped me develop in my leadership by learning to work better in a team and improving my delegation skills through the help and support of our team environment. I have also developed in my ministry by being able to define and understand what I am passionate about and where I want to serve God through doing different things in the internship. I would recommend the internship to others as it is a great opportunity to grow in your leadership and try new things. It is also a great time of learning more about yourself and growing with God and doing ministry in a great supportive team environment.

Simone: The HBC internship has been deeply formational. God has shown me more of what it is to intentionally seek after his kingdom here in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. God has grown me, he’s shown me what it is to live more for him and less for myself. The internship has equipped and shaped me to be more gospel orientated in every practical step in ministry. I would recommend this internship if you feel led by God to further your spiritual development and gain ministry experience. If you would like identify the specific gifts God has given you and have opportunities to practice them in a ministry setting, this internship is for you.

Are you ready to grow, be equipped, challenged, and encouraged in your personal and ministry development?
