Angel’s Cafe

Each Sunday morning Angel’s is an integral part of our fellowshipping together and is there for those who enjoy great coffee, cake, and conversation. Cafe patronage continues to boom and at times it has been standing room only with every seat, corner and edge being taken.

Angels continues to be a vital ministry of HBC well as offering a place for people to come and relax on Sunday mornings, get connected, and get a feel for HBC.

Creative Moments Craft

Creative Moments a craft group which meets once a term to complete on the evening a low cost craft using different mediums each time.  E.g folk art, stitching, beading etc Our evenings commence at 7.30 and conclude approx 10pm. During this time we enjoy supper together and start our evening with devotions which help us to connect our creative abilities with God. Creative Moments is open to women of all ages.

Our Children and Families Pastor is always in attendance and available to listen and pray for any needs. Each year we celebrate Christmas in July with fellowship over a special dinner being the focus. All welcome!

Crossroads

'Crossroads' is a 'Club' style program for people with disability, 16 years and over. Similar clubs may be found in churches of other denominations – same name, but slightly different program – and are linked through 'Crossroads Victoria'.

Heathmont Crossroads meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, February through to December, in the Heathmont Baptist Church Hall. The program begins at 7.30pm with news sharing and a sing-along, and concludes after supper by 9.00pm. Each night has a different theme or activity and includes a brief focus to share that God loves us all. The Crossroaders enjoy music, crafts, games, play acting and lots of fun activities.

Friendship Club

The Friendship Club meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Although anyone is welcome to join, the group mainly attracts retirees. Every second month the group goes on an 'excursion', and the alternative month they meet together at the Church with a guest speaker. Trips are often to interesting places such as a gourmet deli tour, and the speakers are informative and relevant. New people are welcome to join.

Healing Prayer Ministry

We sometimes recognise that there are things in our lives which hold us back or drag us down, and we want to be free from them. Jesus came to give 'full' life (John 10:10). He brings freedom, recovery and release to those who are struggling (Luke 4:18,19). Healing Prayer Ministry is not counselling, but a time when someone comes to Jesus in prayer, supported by two other people, with another team praying elsewhere.

Ministry times are on Thursday mornings and evenings and can be booked through the Church Office.

Hertime

Women just love being together and at Hertime we have have shared stories, reflected on God’s love and grasped the power of Jesus in our lives, learnt to love with open minds and hearts, all whilst sharing our own life’s journey. Not to mention slots of scrumptious desserts too!

Hertime not only embraces all women at HBC but also our wider community of playgroup mums, neighbours and friends. Life is meant to be shared and women have the ability to do that incredibly well. Hertime offers the opportunity to come on your own, come as a group or bring your friends - and have fun, feel spoilt and appreciated for who you are, and go home with lifted spirits after learning, experiencing and embracing further knowledge of an awesome God who loves each one us.

HICH – Heathmont Inter-Church Help

HICH is the Christian Churches of Heathmont together operating out of the Op Shop in the Heathmont Shopping Centre. Requiring over 100 volunteers to serve the Maroondah community. Dependant on the support from the four local Heathmont Churches – Anglican; Baptist; Presbyterian & Uniting. Our core business is FOOD PARCELS An ever-increasing need provides on average 104 parcels (to the value of $50 each) per month. Each parcel includes food for a family for 3 days together with a fruit and vegetable voucher.

HICH community grants scheme aims to assist families (by providing funds) to overcome temporary problems, and as a result, extend to them a good chance of recovering to be an effective and cohesive family unit. Funding for Lunch @ One program at Eastern Access Community Health to provide a Parenting & Socialising Group meeting once a week has made a significant difference in the lives of many parents and children.

HOW CAN YOU BE PART OF THIS? Become a HICH Member ($2). Support the Op Shop with donations and purchases. Bring an item of food each Sunday. Fund a $50 food parcel – gifts are tax deductible. Become one of our volunteers. Pray for our community; the vulnerable, the lonely and the needy.

Junior Geriatricks

Junior Geriatricks is a group for over fifties which meets by-monthly for social activities throughout the year. We commence in February with a barbecue which is also our planning night for the year. Members of the group share responsibility for organizing our various activities. Details of activities are advertised in the weekly church newsletter `Connections’. We share our knowledge, skills and experience so that our program is varied and holds something of interest for everyone. There is always lots of fun and laughter (and food!) as we meet in this informal way for fellowship together. As a group we very much value the friendship and support of each other.

Junior Soccer

Known as Eastern United, the club's home ground for matches is Gracedale Park (Ringwood East), and training is at Belmont Park (South Croydon). The club has seven junior sides and one senior side. Juniors play Saturday mornings, Seniors in the afternoons. For further info come down to Gracedale Park one Saturday to watch a game.

Men’s Ministry

The blokes at HBC put on a number of events each year to bring men together for friendship, fun, and support. Men’s breakfasts, golf weekends, guest speakers on Biblical and contemporary issues, health nights are some of the things we have done in the past. Please feel welcome to contact the Church office and find out some more information.
